KiPiK is a hedgehog. Like all hedgehogs, when summer ends and the temperatures drop, he returns to his cosy nest and snuggles up there until spring. Well, at least... That's what he used to do! Because a few years ago, KiPiK had a strange adventure.
It all started in the middle of winter, when he was deeply asleep. In the middle of a dream where he was feasting on a mountain of earthworms, KiPiK woke up with a shock. He was awakened from his sleep by a thud, and even felt the earth shake! Worried, but also a bit puzzled, KiPiK did what no hedgehog had ever done: he stretched, yawned a couple of times... and decided to go and see what was going on outside. In the middle of winter! He dug his way out with his paws. Brrrr, it's cold!
A few more centimetres, a little effort... And there he was, out of the nest. KiPiK blinked, and was amazed at what he found: a thick layer of fluffy snow covered the ground, which he had always known was a soft green. A pristine mound at the foot of the tall pine tree explained the reason for the disturbance that had awakened him: the thorns had bent under the weight of the snow, and it had fallen all at once, right next to the hedgehog's nest. Still amazed by his discovery, KiPiK then witnessed a surprising sight: just a few metres away, a family of people on holiday were sledging! "What an incredible way to get around," he thought. "I must try it!
All tiredness had left him for good, and he set out to find pieces of bark and wood to make his own sledge. From the very first moment he was convinced that he would never again miss the snowy season! The mountain is life! Summer and winter of course! And so KiPiK became the first hedgehog not to hibernate... And above all the first to go sledging, and also to ski, climb, cycle and much more!
